In this task I analysed why the creators of these magazines used different features, and how these meet the target audience. For example Total guitar has a very large picture of a famous guitarist (James Hetfield – Metallica) this is used as it is a person that many guitarists aspire to, and will therefore attract the audience. Another example is the magazine Lonely planet, this magazine uses very high quality photos to attract people who enjoy travelling or possibly photography, the effect of the high quality photo also suggests that it is a very high quality magazine.
As well as these examples I also looked at the layout, typeface, how photos relate to stories, conventions, captions etc.
